Yoodli Review 2026: Is the AI Roleplay Coach Worth It at $8/Month?

Yoodli is an AI roleplay coach that lets you rehearse conversations, then scores the recording against a rubric. For a mid-to-senior engineer or manager, the useful question is not whether it works in general. It is whether the $8 Pro plan gives enough weekly reps to matter, and whether the data rules fit sensitive interview stories.

How this review was researched: This review is based on official documentation, pricing pages, and community reports — we did not run the tool hands-on. Data fetched 2026-10-21 from Yoodli’s pricing page and homepage, plus TechCrunch’s December 5, 2025 report and GeekWire’s December 2, 2025 report.

Our verdict: Pro is the sensible paid tier for weekly practice. Advanced is worth the extra $12 a month only if unlimited sessions or default exclusion from AI training matter to you. Start on the free Starter plan to test the mechanics before paying.

What Yoodli actually is

Yoodli is a roleplay and feedback product, not a human coach. Its homepage organizes the product into five areas: Roleplays, Personas, Create, Coach and Measure. The company says it keeps a human in the loop rather than replacing coaches, according to TechCrunch.

Yoodli began as a public-speaking tool, and TechCrunch reports that users pulled it toward interview prep, sales pitches and difficult conversations. The company describes itself as a “batting cage before game time,” per GeekWire.

Yoodli is a Seattle company founded in 2021 by Varun Puri and Esha Joshi, with about 40 employees, according to TechCrunch. It has raised nearly $60 million, including a $40 million Series B led by WestBridge Capital. Its homepage points to company-published case studies, including Korn Ferry and a University of Washington announcement; both are vendor-published, not independent.

Pricing: what each tier gets you

Yoodli’s individual plans are Starter at $0, Pro at $8 per month billed annually, and Advanced at $20 per month billed annually. Monthly-billing prices were not captured, so every figure here is annual. All limits and policy details come from Yoodli’s pricing page.

Plan Price (annual) Roleplay limit Data used for AI training Notable extras
Starter $0 Up to 5 total May be used to improve the platform No credit card required
Pro $8/mo Up to 10 per week, no rollover May be used to improve the platform Community access
Advanced $20/mo Unlimited Excluded by default Reimbursement letter for employer learning budgets
Team / Enterprise Custom (sales demo) Not stated Excluded by default SSO, SCIM, LMS/HRIS integrations, SOC 2 Type 2

Two policy details change how you should buy. Any practice session over 30 seconds counts as a roleplay, so ten Pro roleplays means ten qualifying sessions. Yoodli also does not refund on cancellation: cancelling stops renewal, and access continues to the end of the billing period.

The data-training question you should actually care about

On Starter and Pro, session data may be used to improve the platform. On Advanced, Team and Enterprise, roleplay data is excluded from AI training by default. That split matters because interview practice often means rehearsing layoff stories, conflict examples and failures.

Yoodli’s pricing page states it is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and GDPR compliant. Our attempt to read the /trust page returned 404, so those claims rest on the pricing and homepage text alone. Read Yoodli’s trust center before you upload anything sensitive.

Is it worth it for interview prep specifically?

Interview prep is supported by Yoodli’s own partnerships, but not by a feature page we could verify. Yoodli has announced an AI interview coaching partnership with LHH and a gen-AI interview coaching case study with Spencer Stuart. TechCrunch also lists interviews among the simulated scenarios.

The rubric examples on the homepage are not interview rubrics. They cover sales discovery, onboarding, manager feedback, tool rollouts, healthcare and partner pitches, scored on criteria such as objection handling, empathy and agreed next steps. The manager-feedback criteria are the closest fit for behavioral and leadership interviews; that transfer is our inference, not a vendor claim.

The bottom line

Buy Pro for weekly reps at $8 per month billed annually, and move to Advanced only if unlimited sessions or default exclusion from AI training is a requirement. Ten Pro roleplays a week is a reasonable cadence for a candidate in an active loop, but that is our estimate, not a Yoodli benchmark.

Test Starter first. Five total roleplays are enough to judge whether the feedback helps you, and Yoodli does not offer refunds on cancellation. For the wider toolset, see the career tools roundup.

How this guide was built

This guide was built from Yoodli’s official pricing page and homepage, fetched 2026-10-21, plus TechCrunch and GeekWire reporting from December 2025. We did not run the tool hands-on and performed no testing of the product’s feedback quality.

Four gaps remain. The vendor’s interview-prep use-case page returned 404, so no interview-specific feature list was verified. The /trust page returned 404, so SOC 2 and GDPR claims rest on marketing text. Monthly prices were not captured. Company claims, including the 900% revenue growth and the customer list, are labelled as company statements; TechCrunch notes the company did not provide specific ARR figures.
